The Capital Hotel London
London
At a spritely three decades old, The Capital is something of a London institution without which London could survive. Its Michelin starred restaurant is regarded as one of the best in town, and has recently gone under considerable transformations along with the bar. The accommodation sets out, as ever, to preserve a state of grace which explains why royalty and statesmen find it so attractive.
The Capital hides itself away down an urban road, just a few minutes from Harrods and the boutiques of Beauchamp Place. It's run by a close family and the interiors are the sparks of genius from several British designers. The pieces of art all belong to the family's collection while the assortment of delightful furniture have been specially commissioned.
All the medium-sized rooms are in excellent condition. They are designed with an emphasis on refined elegance. All are individually designed and the fabrics for many of the rooms were chosen from the Ralph Lauren collection; each has its special charm and character. The beautiful marble bathrooms are medium in size.
