Some nights, however, Union Chapel gets a makeover and bursts into melodic life as it plays host to a variety of acts, bands and one-off shows.

Originally becoming a local benchmark for organising acoustic nights and the occasional jazz show, it has since been recognised as an award-winning music venue and quickly gained a reputation for attracting creative, thinking bands and singers. With such grandiose surroundings – and sometimes for a charitable cause – it is easy to see why artists raise the bar when playing here.
