It's a fabulous pub in the middle of Covent garden with a great atmosphere. We had made reservations in advance which is advisable as they place gets very crowded. We started off with some lovely drinks and went straight for dinner. We ordered the fish and chips, roasted sea bass and the roast chicken. The fish and chips were amazing and the sea bass was really good too but the chicken was okay. But the chips were delicious. We ordered the sticky toffee pudding to finish. It was good but the cake was not soaked through but still enjoyable. Overall it was a great experience and I would highly recommend it.

Food was actually amazing! Go for the pie or if you want a lighter dish the quiche. Allow extra time for pie- but what’s the hurry?- the drinks are good. Staff was friendly and helpful. Only complaint is the state of the ladies room. We spent a little extra for the soft, fun tshirts.

If Charles Dickens liked this place, who am I to say anything other than - it's great. Came here for dinner and had a great seat upstairs. Make sure to get reservations ahead of time. I had the seafood pie which was great and not filling (which was good as I really wanted dessert). Speaking of dessert, the sticky toffee pudding was very good.

A totally solid spot if you're looking for a proper, historic London pub with heaps of character. Tucked away down a quiet alley, it absolutely oozes old-school charm. It serves up great food that goes way beyond basic pub grub, with their crispy fish and chips and hearty pies being absolute standouts. Despite the place constantly buzzing with a lively, packed crowd, you can always count on good service from a bar team that stays fast, friendly, and efficient. It's the perfect, unpretentious place to grab a drink and a bite.

The after work pub crowd was lively outside but inside we were able to be seated at 8 pm on a Tuesday evening without waiting. The bartender/waiter was very friendly and helpful. We got our orders in and the food arrived in good time. The fish and chips were good and the mushy peas were fresh. The steak and ale pie was delicious! Having pub food in a 400 year old establishment was a treat.
