Description

Triff deinen Guide am Piccadilly Circus und erhalte eine Einführung in den Hintergrund der Zeremonie des Wachwechsels. Du erfährst, was du in den nächsten 1 Stunde und 45 Minuten tun wirst. Dann gehst du als Gruppe in Richtung The Mall. Komme an der Pall Mall und dem Waterloo Place vorbei. Hier erfährst du mehr über die britische Armee und ihren größten General, den Duke of Wellington. Auf der Mall angekommen, kannst du die außergewöhnlichen Denkmäler für Könige und Generäle bewundern. Wirf einen Blick auf den St. James's Park. Bewundere den schönsten der königlichen Parks und schau dir die majestätische Horse Guards Parade an. Gehe weiter in Richtung St. James's Palace. Auf dem Weg dorthin siehst du vielleicht die Household Cavalry, die von ihrer Kaserne im Hyde Park aus unterwegs ist. Das Hauptaugenmerk liegt jedoch darauf, zu sehen, wie die Fußsoldaten aus dem St. James's Palace kommen, um ihre Uniform zu inspizieren. Anschließend marschieren sie zum Buckingham Palace, manchmal begleitet von einer Band. Wenn du Glück hast, spielen sie sogar ein Lied! Einer der Höhepunkte deiner Tour ist es, im Gleichschritt mit den Wachen zu marschieren, wenn sie den St. James's Palace verlassen. Dann kannst du zusehen, wie die Neue Garde aus den Wellington Barracks auftaucht. Oft werden sie von einer kompletten Zeremonienkapelle begleitet. Mach ein Foto vom Buckingham Palace von einer erhöhten Plattform aus. Die Tour endet mit einem Paukenschlag, wenn die Band im Innenhof des Palastes spielt. Dein Guide wird sein Wissen nutzen, um dir das bestmögliche Erlebnis zu bieten. Sonntags - Ab April 2025 erprobt die Armee eine leichte Abwandlung der üblichen Zeremonie an Sonntagen. Sie umfasst die gleiche Anzahl von Wachbewegungen und Standorten, wird aber als Parade und nicht als Wechsel bezeichnet. Derzeit gibt es keine Hinweise darauf, wie lange dieser Versuch andauern wird.

Bei dieser Tour wird der Teil der Zeremonie im Innenhof des Buckingham Palace nicht besichtigt. Dies ist bei dieser Tour aufgrund der großen Menschenmenge nicht möglich und erfordert, dass du mindestens 2 Stunden vor Beginn der Zeremonie an den Toren ankommst.
