The Albert

Milling around and found this pub, An oldish pub from the 1860s (In London anything pre Victorian is true old lol) very clean and great atmosphere, we didn't eat but the people who were seemed to be happy and the food looked great. The toilets were also clean and didn't smell and had a dry floor... gents toilets like that in London is rare! It was about 8ish so it was loud with the areas clientele of finance and business workers but conversation was possible.
We visited The Albert during our trip to London after hearing it was a great place for fish and chips. My husband made a reservation in advance, and we were glad he did. The staff were very friendly, and the fish and chips were absolutely delicious. We had already had a snack at an awkward time, so we couldn't eat as much as we wanted, which was the only disappointment. It was definitely worth the visit, and we'd love to come back the next time we're in London!
Very beautiful sports pub with excellent food, great service and marvellous vibe. Their steak and ale pie was to die for, and Korean chicken burger was excellent too. Service staff were friendly and efficient, creating a very relaxed atmosphere for their customers to enjoy. There was also live band on the ground floor to liven up the atmosphere. Will definitely patronise if I have the chance to be in London again. With Love, from sunny Singapore.
Excellent experience at The Albert, a historic Victorian pub near Victoria Station. Warm, welcoming atmosphere and plenty of character. We tried three pub classics: fish & chips, pie, and a burger. The fish & chips was excellent, with a generous portion of tasty fish and a light, crispy batter. The chips were particularly impressive: thick-cut, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and full of flavour. On Saturday evening there was live music and the England match on TV, creating a lively atmosphere while still allowing easy conversation. A great traditional London pub with good food and plenty of charm. Highly recommended.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Worth stopping by – but not flawless This place gets a lot of things right. The atmosphere is warm and classic, the bar area is lively, and it’s a great spot to sit back with a glass of wine and share a few plates. The menu has solid pub-style options, portions are fair, and service is friendly without being intrusive. What I really liked: ✔️ Comfortable, welcoming vibe ✔️ Good selection for sharing with drinks ✔️ Well-organized and clean space That said, a few details hold it back from a full 5 stars. Some dishes feel a bit safe rather than memorable, and consistency could be slightly better considering the price point. Overall: a reliable, enjoyable place you’d happily return to — just one step away from being excellent. 👍 Recommended, especially for a relaxed evening with wine and conversation.
