The Devonshire
London

I liked the starters the most: the scallops and tomato tart were amazing. The grilled lamb chops were too fatty and tasted like pork chop. The signature soufflé was drowned in rum and I could hardly stand it. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice and vibrant but the food needed improvement. Service was okay but the waiters were not attentive at times.
We have an excellent dining experience starting with the juicy pork ribs and scallops which was paired so well with the bacon bits. The rib eye was so tender and suet pudding rich with flavour. Special mention to Dominic and his team on the excellent service and warm hospitality.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Devonshire absolutely lives up to the hype and is one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in London. From the moment you walk in, there’s a wonderful buzz to the place—lively, energetic, and full of character, yet still warm and welcoming. The food is outstanding. Every dish showcases top-quality British ingredients prepared with confidence and simplicity, allowing the natural flavours to shine. The cooking is precise, generous, and deeply satisfying, proving that classic British cuisine can be both refined and comforting at the same time. The standout for me was the exceptional quality of the produce and the attention to detail throughout the meal. Whether it’s the perfectly cooked meats, seasonal vegetables, or the famous house specials, every plate feels thoughtfully executed and packed with flavour. Service was equally impressive—friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without being intrusive. Despite the restaurant’s popularity and busy atmosphere, the team remained professional and genuinely hospitable throughout our visit. The Devonshire has managed to create something special: a traditional London pub atmosphere combined with food that rivals many fine dining establishments. It’s easy to see why reservations are so sought after. A fantastic meal, excellent service, and an unforgettable atmosphere. Highly recommended and well worth a visit.
"The Absolute Best Guinness in London !" Without a doubt, this has to be one of the finest pubs in London. Every time I passed by, it was always bustling with crowds, which finally prompted me to visit. This establishment is renowned for its Guinness, and seeing pints of the black stuff continuously lined up on the bar confirmed its stellar reputation. While we initially started with a cider and a regular beer, we quickly realized that ordering a Guinness is a mandatory ritual here. It exceeded all expectations. Having traveled to Dublin last year and visited the Guinness Storehouse, I can confidently say that the pour here tastes exactly like the original in Ireland. It is an absolute must-visit for anyone looking for an authentic pint in London. We chose to sit at the bar counter and spotted Tayto crisps on display. The bartender informed us they were only £2, so we ordered a bag to accompany our drinks. Pairing Tayto crisps with Guinness felt like the ultimate Irish staple and brought back fond memories of my time in Dublin. Even though my friend has never been to Ireland, they remarked that this combination offered a perfect mini-trip to Dublin right from London. The pairing was flawless, and the service was excellent. I am already planning my next visit!
We came to try the food on a friend’s recommendation. First of all, the service from start to finish was excellent — everyone was incredibly attentive, helpful, fast, and friendly throughout the evening. The person from Cardiff who showed us to our table was especially welcoming, easy-going, and genuinely pleasant, which created a great first impression. The atmosphere, design, and overall interior of the venue were also beautiful and very well thought out. The pub side of the place definitely deserves five stars for its location, atmosphere, and overall vibe. As for the restaurant itself, I would say the service and atmosphere were five-star, but unfortunately the food was more average than we expected. The starters and the bread were very good, but the main dishes felt fairly ordinary overall. Because of that, despite how much we enjoyed the service and ambience, I do not think we would return specifically for the food.
