Amazing little pub. We loved the vibe, the atmosphere was great, and it has good beers and wines
Visiting from the States. Found NG across from our hotel late one evening. Decided to give it a go. Found it to be very laid back with a welcoming atmosphere. It was crowded, but we didn't feel like we couldn't enjoy a drink or two. Had pretty good service and enjoyed our drinks. I tried something new that was suggested by one of the servers. Since I don't know typical prices, they were ok. We went back a second night. Service was good again. Glad we checked it out.
Tucked just away from the main street, The Nell Gwynne Tavern is a real hidden gem. It’s quite small, which actually adds to its charm — cosy, welcoming, and full of character. You feel like you’ve discovered somewhere a bit special rather than just another busy London pub. The atmosphere is relaxed and authentic, with friendly staff and a nice mix of locals and visitors. It’s the perfect spot to escape the crowds for a drink or a quick bite. Definitely worth seeking out if you’re in the area — one of those places you’re glad you found.
Charming little pub hidden from plain sight. Thanks to the Hawkstone finder website, we spent a lovely couple of hours here. Friendly service, good beer options for both traditional and well known ones. Recommended!
We have been going to the Nell for years and it never disappoints, especially this last visit. Thursday-Saturday, it was crowded but never had a problem finding a seat and the service was on point! Kiran, Dan and the rest of the crew did a superior job! Top notch service. My wife and a friend tried their hot food offering (sausage roll and a Scotch Egg), they said it was delicious and good, not your average pub grub. Looking forward to being back later this year!
