London Heathrow - Terminal 1

Terminal 1 was opened in 1968 and handles most of Heathrow's Domestic and Irish routes with some long haul and European routes.

The terminal offers a large selection of restaurants and fast food outlets in the departure area, but these can be expensive as in most major airports. There is also a selection of retail outlets which include duty free, electronic, fashion and newsagent stores. For a detail list of the stores available in terminal 1 please refer to BAA's Website (Link)

The terminal building also has Wi-Fi hot spots provided by BT Openzone, The Cloud and T-Mobile. The terminal was redeveloped in 2005 to modernise the interior and to increase the departure lounge by providing additional retail outlets and seating for passengers.

Airlines

The following Airlines operate out of terminal 1:

- Aer Lingus - Air New Zealand - Asiana Airlines
- BMI - Cyprus Airways - El Al
- Icelandair - LOT Polish Airlines - South African Airways
- Transaero - United Airlines - US Airways

Due to the opening of Terminal 5, many airlines will move to other terminals in order to effectively use the space vacated by British Airways. Whilst we aim to keep this data as up to date as possible, we advise that you check with your airline before flying.
