Lovely overnight stay. Our room was lovely, the staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was delicious. It was a short walk to the DLR so easy to access travel to other parts of London. A really nice stay. We would definitely come again ☺️
This is our most favourite local pub! Love coming here for a pint and the occasional meal! Special compliments to the chef — they always get the balance of heat and flavour just right! Loved their jerk chicken and gochujang burger. I always get a gourmet experience without all the fuss.
My partner and I have been coming here for a while as it’s our local pub, which makes this even more frustrating to write. The food quality has been steadily declining, but today’s experience was one of the worst. I was served a £17 veggie burger that was genuinely one of the worst things I’ve had in a long time. It bore little to no resemblance to what was described on the menu and was completely unacceptable at that price point. What made the situation worse was the manager’s handling of the complaint. Rather than addressing the issue properly by offering to remove the item from the bill, she tried to brush it off by offering a free dessert, which entirely missed the point. It felt dismissive and showed a clear lack of basic customer service skills. I had to explicitly state to the server that I would not be paying for the burger but only the drinks. The only positive in this experience was the server, who was polite, understanding, and professional throughout—something the manager could learn from. Unfortunately, after this experience, I won’t be coming back.
A once lovely, historic music venue and pub. Sadly the interior has been stripped of its charm and is bland, overpriced and no longer feels like a pub. However, the exterior is still lovely with the original brown glazed tiles. Table service and restaurant vibes is the order of the day. The barman on our visit last Sunday was very good at his job (bloke with dark hair tied back).
