This unique one-person play, performed by a rotating cast including Minnie Driver, Lenny Henry, Jonny Donohoe, Ambika Mod, and Sue Perkins, explores themes of love, hope, and the small joys that bring colour to everyday life. Co-directed by Jeremy Herrin, the production has touched audiences in over 80 countries, making it a celebrated part of the West End theatre scene.
The narrative follows a child who begins a list of everything brilliant in the world to help their mother navigate depression. As the list grows, it becomes a moving reflection on life’s beauty and its challenges, blending gentle humour with poignant storytelling. The play offers a deeply personal and interactive experience, inviting each audience member to connect with the story in their own way.
Running for 14 weeks only, starting 1 August, “Every Brilliant Thing” is both a comedy and a sensitive exploration of mental health, staged in the intimate setting of @sohoplace. Please note that the play contains themes of suicide and depression, with an age recommendation of 12 and above.
