The gentleman at the entrance wasn’t particularly welcoming, but it wasn’t enough to stop us from going in. The ground floor had a nice, lively pub atmosphere and was quite busy and noisy. We had our meal upstairs, though, and the experience there was excellent. The atmosphere was beautiful and much quieter, and the staff were very friendly and attentive. We tried a few different pies along with beer and a gin cocktail, and everything was delicious. Overall, a very enjoyable experience and definitely worth a visit!
We stopped into The Red Lion in London for lunch, and it was very good! The outside was so beautiful and inviting, we had to try it. The restaurant/pub had a warm, inviting atmosphere. We were seated right away and ordered a burger, which came with red coleslaw and French fries. The burger was cooked well and was delicious. The French fries were just as good. The restaurant was clean, and although busy, the staff was attentive and friendly. A shout-out to Ellis, who was our hostess, server, and even our tour guide all in one! He went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and made our experience even more enjoyable. If you’re looking for a great burger in London with excellent service and a welcoming atmosphere, The Red Lion is definitely a place to visit!
Nice pub to get your fish and chips. A bit of the British experience. Doorman was quite helpful to getting us seated. Food was quite decent. See my pics. Staff was a bit uneven. Young lady was responsive but the other fellow was hard to get his attention.
Wow! Such a great place to end our day of touring the area. We were seated right away with our reservation in an upstairs dining room. Joseph made our visit wonderful with suggestions and even a great beer to try. We had a large party of 9 with teens to seniors and we had a wonderful time. We tried the pie sampler, fish and chips, Caesar salads, scotch eggs. Everything was delicious and hit the spot.

The chips are thick-cut and well-seasoned, pairing perfectly with the freshness of the lemon wedge. The tartar sauce adds a creamy, tangy balance, and the mushy peas complete the dish in a traditional and comforting way. It’s simple, but executed at a very high level. The crispy beef brisket bites are a standout in their own right. The exterior is deeply crisp with a rich, caramelised coating, while the inside remains juicy and full of flavour. Pairing them with pickles is a smart touch, the acidity cuts through the richness and elevates each bite. That contrast between crunchy, savoury meat and sharp pickle creates a really satisfying combination. Overall, this place nails both quality and atmosphere.
