Fabulous pub not too busy quintessentially British everything you want in an English pub definitely stop in here and buy a drink and try the food. The staff are amazing and the price is a reasonable.
The pies are award winning and I can personally attest that its for a reason. Literally one of the best things I've ever put inside my mouth. The atmosphere is also so classic and the staff is so friendly! Cannot recommend enough!!!
What a pleasant surprise! I was at the NHM and looking for somewhere to eat. The name of this pub obviously catched my attention so I decided to go there. It really is a very nice neighborhood pub! Pretty small compared to some big pubs there are in central London, but it goes with the vibe. Food was great, staff was excellent. Absolutely recommend it!
Excellent food, absolutely delicious, we came two days running! We had the steak and ale pies and sticky toffee pudding and the chicken and leek pie in tarragon sauce and fish and chips the second day! Portions are huge and of gourmet quality. Staff are very friendly, lovely atmosphere, we’ll definitely come back!
It was a genuine pleasure to return to The Elephant and Castle in Kensington after two years. My first visit left such a lasting impression that I chose to come back to this part of London specifically for it — and I am delighted to say it remains every bit as exceptional as I remembered. The cuisine is consistently refined and beautifully executed. Each dish reflects careful thought, balance, and respect for quality ingredients. There is a quiet confidence in the cooking — understated yet assured — which elevates the entire dining experience. Flavours are harmonious, presentation elegant without being ostentatious, and the overall standard impressively consistent. What continues to distinguish this establishment, however, is its atmosphere. There is a serene, almost bohemian charm to the space — intimate, calm, and wonderfully removed from the bustle of the city. It offers a rare sense of tranquillity in Kensington, making it perfectly suited to unhurried conversation and relaxed, civilised evenings. To return after two years and find the same warmth, quality, and understated elegance is no small achievement. The Elephant and Castle remains a place to which one returns not merely for a meal, but for an atmosphere and a feeling. I very much look forward to my next visit.
