Loved this place. We were staying in Kensington just outside of Notting Hill and thoroughly enjoyed all the pub had to offer. From gluten free beer on tap to comedy in the basement, nothing disappointed us. We went as a couple for pints and entertainment, then returned for a family dinner. The staff made the experience better. We'd highly recommend this pub for all it has to offer.
The Mall Tavern is the kind of neighbourhood pub that reminds you why London has some of the best gastropubs in the world. Located in Notting Hill but away from the crowds and sometimes overwhelming atmosphere of Portobello Road, it feels like you’ve stepped into real local life. This is where locals come to eat, drink, and catch up with friends. The food is outstanding. The oysters are incredibly fresh, the fries are perfectly cooked, and the Scotch egg is simply delicious. Add an excellent beer selection, and you have everything you could ask for from a modern British gastropub. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between stylish and relaxed. Depending on the time of day, it can feel chic, lively, or wonderfully family-friendly. And when the weather is nice, the terrace is the place to be. A special mention goes to the staff, who are genuinely friendly and happy to help you choose the right beer from their excellent selection. This is the complete opposite of a tourist pub—it’s authentic, welcoming, and one of the best places to experience London’s neighbourhood pub culture. Highly recommended.
Great food and drinks. Mezcal Bloody Mary was excellent. Sunday chicken roast and the rump was very good, the croquettes were outstanding. The service is friendly and ambience is good especially the open space at the back which is non smoking. The pricing felt a bit higher than usual but a great pub nevertheless.
We just arrived to London on a Sunday, and made a reservation to try the traditional Sunday Roast, for dinner. It was delicious! Really good! And also ordered a traditional fish and chips, also very well done, no grease att all. Tried 3 different beers. Highly recommend 👌
Lovely pub both inside and out. Atmosphere was great, had a good buzz and what a fantastic selection of craft beers and IPAs. Service was slick and very friendly. We came in for a quick one and stayed for several. Being Easter weekend there were hot cross buns that were free for anyone, they were made in house and were wonderful. Great pub.
