Description
Aldwych station opened in 1907 and closed in 1994. Despite low usage, the station has a rich history as a WWII shelter and film location for productions like The ABC Murders (2018), Darkest Hour (2017), Sherlock (2014), and Atonement (2007).
The tour covers the ticket hall, original lifts, abandoned platforms, tunnels, and rarely seen interconnecting walkways. It is led by experts from the London Transport Museum, based on their extensive archives and collections. The tour won the ‘Best Hidden Gem in the World’ award at the Tiqets Remarkable Venue Awards 2022.
