Description
Come and unlock the secrets of Stonehenge and marvel at this remarkable and mysterious feat of ancient engineering and design. Each year, thousands gather to celebrate the summer solstice, the longest day of the year and a moment rich in history, spirituality, and tradition. Be part of this extraordinary occasion and experience the unique energy that makes the solstice celebration at Stonehenge truly unforgettable.
Your tour departs from London at 12:00 noon on 20 June for the Sunset tour, or at 1:00 AM on 21 June for the Sunrise tour.
By the time you arrive, the celebrations will be in full swing. Crowds of revellers, spiritual seekers, and curious travellers come together in a joyful and respectful gathering, waiting to witness the sunset or sunrise as it aligns with the stones. This powerful moment has been observed for thousands of years. The excitement and anticipation build as people come together to mark this ancient tradition.
You will have plenty of time to take in the atmosphere, walk among the stones, and observe rituals and ceremonies led by modern day Druids, Pagans, and others who honour the site. Being able to walk freely within the stone circle is a rare privilege, making this experience even more special.
If you choose the Sunset tour on 20 June, your journey will include some wonderful extra stops. You will visit Avebury, home to one of the largest prehistoric stone circles in Europe. It offers a peaceful yet fascinating insight into Neolithic life. You will also visit the beautiful village of Lacock, known for its charming streets, historic architecture, and its appearances in films and television shows including Harry Potter and Downton Abbey. Also, a one-course pub meal is included in Lacock before we head to Stonehenge. Please note these stops and the meal are only included in the Sunset tour.
Whether you join the Sunset or Sunrise experience, this is a magical opportunity to connect with nature, history, and culture in one of the most iconic ancient sites in the world.
