After seeing an irresistible reel on Instagram, I knew I had to visit Garden Bar & Smokehouse. As a huge fan of smoked meats, the idea of combining American barbecue with Afghan flavours was simply too tempting to pass up. From the moment we arrived, we were given such a warm welcome by Ben and his team. Walking through the restaurant and into the garden was an experience in itself. It honestly felt like discovering a hidden oasis in London - beautifully designed with lush greenery, cosy little nooks, and thoughtfully arranged seating that made us want to stay for hours. We ordered the smoked brisket steak, the sea bass, and the chicken skewers, and every dish was outstanding. The meat was incredibly tender, everything was packed with flavour, and each dish was cooked to perfection. You can really taste the care and craftsmanship that goes into the food. What made the experience even more memorable was the hospitality. The staff struck that perfect balance of being friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without ever feeling intrusive. We also loved hearing a little of the story behind the restaurant from Ben, who founded it with his brother. It’s always special to meet people who are so passionate about what they’ve created. A truly memorable lunch, incredible food, a stunning setting, and wonderful people. We can’t wait to come back - and next time we’ll definitely be bringing friends.
Popped in with my family by chance, on a visit from Canada, very friendly staff, oh the smoked meats.... we had brisket and lamb shank, with huge sides, the triple cooked potatoes we were all raving about, including my on son that typically only eats meat! Everything was fantastic, we were 'reet stuffed' by the end of it, for a by chance meal, far exceeded our expectations, it was the best restaurant I have been too for years. And the ambiance was incredible, a lovely courtyard experience in the midlle of London, who'd a thought it! Thank You Garden Bar and all your staff, we made my whole family very happy
Cue point was absolutely delicious!! We had the lamb shank and the brisket with all the trimmings of a Sunday roast. My highlights were the sticky toffee pudding, the pilau rice and jalapeño jam were 10/10
Great little spot...it's an old pub by the station with a fantastic outdoor area out the back. They have just started doing an Afghan grill in the kitchen which is genuinely really good. Loved the food and the bar manager was great and made sure we had a good night and gave us some free drinks too. Support this place and try the BBQ...it's decent!
Cue Point at Garden Bar is an incredible new addition to the neighbourhood. British Afghan BBQ in an vibey sun drenched beer garden - what more could you want? Everything we ate was unreal. Don’t leave without trying the coal-roasted oysters, wagyu brisket, lamb shank, Madras chicken and triple roasted potatoes. Mursal and team have created something special here. Run don’t walk!
