I had such an amazing evening at Hux Bar in Kensington a couple of nights ago — it truly feels like a hidden gem. The space has recently been transformed into a single-floor venue, and stepping inside feels like walking into the quirkiest, most elegant avant-garde living room. Think lush jungle touches blended beautifully with Persian carpets — it’s stylish, unique, and full of character. The atmosphere was incredible, with a mix of live jazz, Spanish-style music, and a DJ creating the perfect vibe throughout the evening. The cocktails were absolutely delicious — I highly recommend the Pink Panther. If I hadn’t been driving, I definitely would have had a few more! A special mention to our host, who looked after us so well and made the whole experience even more enjoyable. We’ll definitely be coming back — such a fantastic spot.
Drinks were delicious. Atmosphere for a slow Sunday night (obviously no live music) with a chill vibe was nice. Decor is fun but the prices were truly bonkers. We saw 4 different people sit down, look at the menu, and then walk out without ordering because the prices are just absurd. I don’t care how tasty a cocktail is, you can’t have prices this ridiculous.
We booked a table here as part of our stay at Hux Hotel. When checking into our room, the staff said that we have two tokens which entitled us to a free cocktail each between certain hours, but because our table was booked after said hours he would talk to the management to see if it would be allowed. Upon arrival we were seated and there was a bit of random jazz playing, we were handed menus and showed our tokens and explained what I said above. With a huff from the gent, he said something along the lines of that "he'd allow it this time" like we were asking him to source ice cubes from the tip of Mount Everest or something. Just politely go "unfortunately we cannot accept these at this time" or whatever, and we would've been happy to pay for our drinks. Just be honest, don't make a fuss and let us know where we stand. Nevertheless, we picked our cocktails. All of which were not overly nice at all, but were drinkable. I'd probably recommend choosing your own drink rather thank picking from their signature cocktail list on the menus. As we all know "taste is subjective" In between the jazz playing they had rather loud remixes of music playing on the speakers. Kinda ruined the gloomy and jazzy atmosphere in all honesty. But it was what it was. One person in our party ordered a beer which he enjoyed more than the cocktail, but after that we were just a bit fed up with how we were dealt with to begin with, asked for the bill and call it a night. The bill arrived and it was roughly £50. The beer was on there priced accordingly (£7 I think), our cocktails were on there listed as free, and then a couple of extra drinks were added on for whatever reason. We disputed these, as we didn't have anything extra apart from 4 cocktails and a beer. With a bit of effort we got the extras we didn't have removed and paid for the beer... WITH A SERVICE CHARGE!?! Since when was it normal to add a service charge to a bottle of beer? Either way. Not a bar I would choose to come back to in the future. I'm not sure if the above is normal in London now? But I have never had it beforehand in any village, town or city bar or restaurant I have been to.
Place had amazing cocktails....atmosphere is unique and fun. Great live jazz music as well on the weekends! Staff does a good job checking in on you as well so you don't have to sit with an empty glass if you don't want to and I mean they have a stuffed Giraffee how cool is that!
