London Victoria Station

Named after the British Monarch Queen Victoria this is the second busiest station in London. Victoria Station is a terminus for trains, The Underground and coaches.

Quite uniquely you can split the mainline station into almost two separate terminals. For services to Kent you will use Platforms 1-8 whilst if you are looking to get to Surrey or Sussex you will use Platforms 9-19. The Gatwick Express which offers direct links to Gatwick Airport uses Platforms 13 and 14. This service runs along the Brighton Main Line.

The Underground Station provides access to the District and Circle as well as the Victoria Line. This station can become extremely busy during peak hours and it is not unusual for the station entrances to be closed so that overcrowded platforms can clear. An upgrade for the station is planned but won't be completed until 2014.

London Victoria Coach Station (not to be confused with Victoria Bus Station) is used as the London Terminal for long distance coach services. It is located about half a mile from the main railway station. Megabus, National Express, Oxford Express and Eurolines all use the station as their London Base.
