If you want something a bit more traditional, Sushi Tetsu in Clerkenwell is a tiny spot with only eight seats and a waiting list, but honestly, the chef’s attention to detail makes it worth the wait.

Pro tip? Try to avoid weekends if you want a quieter meal, as some of these spots get pretty busy. Also, if you’re in the mood for sushi with a view, Sushi Samba near Liverpool Street offers decent food with the city stretching out beneath you. Don’t expect the absolute best sushi in London there, but the experience is something else.

And if you end up near Camden, hit up Shoryu for Hakata-style ramen and sushi combos that feel a bit different from your usual sushi bar fare. There’s loads to explore, but these places will give you a solid taste of what London’s sushi scene offers beyond the tourist track.
