2012 was the year Stella McCartney designed the outfits for the Team GB Olympic athletes and watched her father Paul McCartney celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Beatles. It is obvious that Stella McCartney is a British fashion icon, especially as this was the first time a recognized fashion designer was asked to work on such a collaborative project as the Olympics games.
McCartney launched her own fashion house in 2001, after holding a position as creative director of Chloe in France. McCartney’s collections encompass women and children’s clothes, bags, shoes and jewellery. As well as more recently developed fragrances and skincare. All of these ranges are available at the Bruton street shop. As a lifelong vegetarian McCartney does not use any leather or fur in any of her designs.
The new flagship Mayfair store is decorated in the style of a London townhouse. The feel is young, simple and sophisticated, and most definitely British.
