Tate to Tate Tour
London
The Tate Boat runs between the Tate Britain museum in Milbank to the Tate Modern art gallery on the South Bank near St Paul’s Cathedral. The high-speed catamaran boat trip was designed to be a shuttle between the two museums so that guests could enjoy both within one day, without having to travel long distances on public transport.
You can try Tate Britain for Tudor oil paintings in the morning and Tate Modern for the latest Turner Prize winner after lunch. However, this boat trip is also a great way to see the river even if you are not visiting the Tate museums themselves.
The Tate to Tate is scheduled to run every 40 minutes so it is worth going online to look at their timetable and plan in advance, as you don’t want to wait 40 minutes in the rain. They also run seven days a week, but only during gallery opening times between 7am and 8pm.
The boat is operated by Thames Clippers who are experts on the Thames and a popular company for tourists and locals alike.
