Parks and Open Spaces
It's like the 100 Acre Wood from the Winnie the Pooh stories, except it's 30 acres smaller and doesn't contain honey-eating bears in red vests; London's Highgate Wood is dominated by ancient oaks and hornbeam, in which over seventy species of bird live, and where several other forms of wildlife roam free.
Throughout the year, from March to December, there are events being held at Highgate Wood. Unless otherwise stated, they're all free to attend. Examples of what you can expect are seasonal guided walks, bat evenings, bush-craft skill sessions, historical walks, tree-climbing activities, and insect safaris; great for the family and kids especially.
