Lost Society
London
Lost Society is a dazzling late-night bar and restaurant on Wandsworth Road in Clapham. The restaurant is situated in a former two storey barn built in the 16th century that, although being rebuild several times, still features many of its original elements. The restaurant's Head Chef Warren Beesley created a menu of modern European and Asian fusion dishes coupled with some classic dishes with a funky twist.
The Head Chef prepares hearty and inventive dishes that meet his customers' wishes and needs. Lost society creates seasonal menu in accordance to available ingredients. The à la carte menu could includes dishes such as pan-fried cod fillet, samphire and scallop veloute, spinach and ricotta puff pastry tart with roasted tomato and rocket and wood pigeon breast wrapped in pancetta, black pudding and stewed pear. The wine list was designed to complement dishes perfectly and to be enjoyed on its own. The drinks menu also includes international beers, ciders and a wide range of classic, inventive and favourite cocktails. All dishes and drinks are reasonably priced and have the same character as the bar itself.
The venue is divided over two levels and features a secluded garden area which is ideal to while away the summer evenings. Unique lamps and chandeliers give a muted light that achieves a romantic and surreal setting. The old barn staircase makes you time travel to long lost centuries and memories and mediate an air of lightness and infinity. The staff is very down-to-earth and friendly. If you do not wish to leave the premises after your meal - stay! The late-night bar hosts DJ's Thursday to Saturday and mediates the same magical atmosphere as the restaurant.
