France has always been regarded as the spiritual home and epicentre of fine wines. As a result, there have been innumerable attempts to engage us rosbifs and educate us in the deep, satisfying flavours and enlightened experiences a great glass of wine can offer. If anything could tempt us Londoners away from our ciders and real ales, it's the team over at Terroirs. They've created a fantastic little place over by the strand extolling the virtues of wine; an in-depth but easily navigable wine list, heavy on the French wines (as befits the name) and helpfully divided by region. Wines are offered in several measures, as well as by the bottle and 500ml carafes to share, and staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful in assisting in making recommendations to accompany the deliciously rustic modern European and Gallic-leaning menu of small eats and bar snacks.
