The White Swan
London
A wickedly lively joint with a jovial, friendly atmosphere and big enough for large crowds of people, the White Swan in Whitechapel sits right in the middle of two nearby Tube stops: Aldgate and Aldgate East.
It's an unpretentious pub with knowledgeable staff and clientele consisting mainly of office workers. Its food list is typically British and so is the selection of drinks at the bar. London Pride - a classic and respected city ale is on tap, along with various others. All can be enjoyed either at a table round the fringes of the pub or, for a little variety, on the balcony above the bar.
There's ample seating space everywhere you look at the White Swan; the dining area is particularly outstanding as well and, although both dining and drinking zones are very close neighbours, you won't be put off your meal or distracted by conversation overlap.
Opening times: Monday - Thursday: 11:00 - 24:00, Friday: 11:00 - 01:00, weekends: weddings and private bookings only.
