Diana Memorial Park and Fountain
London
Created in memory of the Princess of Wales, the Diana Memorial Fountain is something to experience for yourself.
The unique and beautiful tribute was designed to reflect Diana's life. Water cascades from the highest point in two directions before meeting in a calm pool. Visitors can cross the water on one of three bridges to reach the centre of the fountain.
Described as moving and sensitive, the design aims to make all visitors feel welcome and at home, therefore attracting many families and children. While asked not to walk on the memorial, you are welcome to sit on the edge and dip your toes.
The memorial can be found in Hyde Park and was opened by Her Majesty the Queen in July 2004. It was built using state-of-the-art materials, talent and technology, including over 500 pieces of Cornish granite.
It is easily accessible for wheelchairs, however, only registered assistance dogs are permitted.
The area is supervised during opening hours but can be closed off during extremely cold or severe weather conditions.
