Gay's the Word

Recently celebrating its 32nd birthday, Gay's the Word has had a fair struggle to keep its doors open. Hikes in rent charges, oppositions from the council and even a raid of their stock have all put the future of this bookshop in uncertainty, but huge support from the local and worldwide community have assured it safety for the time being.

The stock in this shop covers every type of Gay and Lesbian literature available. Fiction and erotica play an important part, but also picture books for children, and fiction for teens, (the shop supplies many of these to schools) as well as help books for coming out and queer and gender theory books that you would never find in your average Waterstones.

So pop in have and have a look around to support a Bloomsbury institution.
