Stomp
London
Being told to keep a lid on it in the past was always a not-so-subtle way for one to request the volume be turned down. Stomp, however, turns this very notion on its head, where bin lids are used to create an almighty racket that has had viewers enthralled throughout the world for the past few years.
Fresh, funny, fast and enthralling, Stomp has been winning awards and delighting all languages since its inception. Comedy, dance and theatre come together on stage as eight performers use everything and anything they can get their hands in order to beat out an explosive and addictive rhythm. Bin lids, plastic bags, hammers, lighters and – yes – even the kitchen sink is thrown into the mix, emerging as an artistic testament to human creation.
While there is no storyline as such, the indefinable nature of Stomp makes it a joy for all ages, and its fast-paced action ensures that everybody can enjoy the unfolding action on stage.
