The Book of Mormon
London
For their West End debut the comedy writers of the hit cartoon South Park, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, have created the brilliant satire musical 'The Book of Mormon'. Winner of nine Tony Awards, the show is set to take place in the magnificent Prince of Wales Theatre in Coventry Street, a historic building that has been home to countless eminent actors.
The story is based around the struggles faced by two missionaries on a trip to Africa to educate the people about the book of Mormon. As you can imagine, with writers like Park and Stone, the musical is filled with hilarious toe-tapping numbers like 'spooky Mormon hell dream' and 'I am Africa' as well as some filthy humour that will have you giggling throughout the whole performance. While comedy plays a big part of the appeal in the story, there is an underlying message that confronts some important issues that still exist in Africa today. One of the funniest musicals you will ever see, which still manages the move you emotionally 'The Book of Mormon' is a must for South Park fans or anyone open minded with a good sense of humour.
