Loftus Road
London
Home to one of London's more prestigious football clubs, Queens Park Rangers, Loftus Road is steeped in history. Originally used as the home ground for Shepherd's Bush FC, the 'Hoops' moved in for what was the first of three periods in 1917, and in 1981 became the first British professional football team to install an artificial pitch, setting a benchmark in the modern game and the environments it is played in.
Since then, the ground has been used not only as a platform for fans striving to once again witness QPR become an establish Premier League outfit, but also for various other sporting teams and events, including boxing and rugby.
It may be one of the smallest grounds to have graced football's highest echelons, but this takes nothing away from the atmosphere that is generated here on a match day. And with more than affordable ticket prices, it is a fantastic alternative to the more pricey standard prices found at neighbouring teams like Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.
