Having taken 12 NME “Best Venue” awards since 1994, the O2 Academy Brixton has long been regarded as one of London’s most established and respected music venues by music lovers and artists alike. Boasting an impressive 5,000 capacity, state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems and an unrivalled interior, visitors will quickly discover that seeing their favourite bands here is an experience like no other.
That atmosphere that is generated inside the art deco surroundings never fails to impress, no matter where you are standing or sitting. The sloping floor that leads to the stage – the largest fixed stage in Europe, complete with an elaborate proscenium arch – gives fans ideal views from all angles and those sitting in the top tier will still feel the same electrifying buzz as the music kicks into gear.
If you fancy a break from the music, then the main auditorium is just as vibrant as the main stage area. Most bands set up a merchandise area, and there are several bars too serving reasonably priced drinks and food.
