Really recommend this café!! The food is fresh and delicious, and the service is amazing. The staff pay attention to every little detail and made me feel very welcome. I came here alone and had one of my best experiences in London. If you’re looking for a place to take a break, definitely come and enjoy it here! ☕️🤍
If you’re after a bit of Italian charm, this is the spot. We really enjoyed the breakfast and coffee. The place is cosy and welcoming, with a lovely selection of traditional Italian sweets. The coffee was spot on, and the sandwiches and eggs were absolutely delicious. Be sure to try their signature sweet as well! it’s well worth it. Added the place to my favourite places in London list! We’ll definitely be back.
Excellent food in a great location. I highly recommend this place, not only for the quality of the food but also for the outstanding customer service. Parth was especially kind, polite, and welcoming, making our experience even more enjoyable. On this visit, we tried the Rustico and Pasticciotto, and both were absolutely delicious. On previous occasions, we have also enjoyed the focaccia, taralli, and pizza, all of which were fantastic. The food offers an authentic taste of Lecce, with genuine flavors that truly stand out. Everything we’ve tried has been fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. A wonderful place for anyone looking to experience authentic Italian specialties. We had lunch at Capilungo and it was an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish! We ordered the Baresi almonds, taralli pugliesi, focaccia, smokey bun, artisan burrata, Capocollo ham, orecchiette, baked cannelloni, mezzi rigatoni arrabbiata, tiramisù, and pasticciotto (YOU SIMPLY CANNOT MISS THIS, THE BEST BY FAR WE HAD IN LONDON) - and every single dish was truly delicious. The food was genuine and authentically Italian, as if we were in Italy enjoying a meal cooked by our nonna. The ingredients were clearly high quality, and everything was full of flavour and nicely presented. The place is located right in the heart of Covent Garden, yet it feels warm and personal. It’s a family-run business, and the owner personally oversees the service, working closely with the staff and kindly speaking with guests, recommending food and drink options with genuine care. The staff are excellent, attentive, professional, and welcoming (special thanks to Sam and Sujal for looking after us). Top-notch service all around. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for real Italian food in London!
I have been to Capilungo countless times over the past year, and I can confidently say they have truly become one of my favourite cafes in all of London. They have an amazing selection of authentic Puglian dishes, and the quality and taste never disappoint. I really recommend their special hot chocolates (especially either the pistachio or hazelnut praline one!), or the 'Caffe Leccese' if you prefer coffee. Their pasticciotto (specially baked pies filled with custard) are also equally amazing, especially when they're warmed fresh from the oven. They have a wide range of menus (from small snacks to brunch to main dishes) so there's always something for everyone. On atmosphere: the cafe is the perfect place to escape the bustling Covent Garden crowds. It feels like stepping into a different world where you can just sit down and relax away from the chaos and noise outside. They also have a lower floor in case it gets busy during peak hours. Finally, one thing I truly want to give my appreciation to is the amazing staff here. I'm always pleasantly surprised with how warm and welcoming they all are, and even more when they remember returning customers (which, considering how busy cafes usually get, especially in central London of all places, is really impressive). They're always very attentive, and they make sure everything is perfectly suited to your liking. A big thank you to Raj, Utsabh, and Sojal! And one more very kind waitress I remember meeting a couple of times when I first started coming (sadly didn't catch her name, but she wore glasses!)
