Visited Chez Antoinette in Covent Garden and absolutely loved the experience. The hospitality was so warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The whole place had such a comforting, traditional French feel to it — almost like being in a little village in France, with old-school food, decor, and atmosphere. The food came out quickly once the menu changed from breakfast to lunch, and the options felt very traditional and authentic. What made it even better was the atmosphere around us. We ended up speaking with another customer who was French, which added even more to the experience and made the place feel even more genuine. The waitresses also spoke French and were lovely. They even had the patience to help me learn a little bit, which was a really nice touch. Overall, it was a warm, welcoming and memorable visit. A beautiful little spot in Covent Garden that I’d definitely go back to.
We enjoyed a lovely breakfast here sitting in the courtyard! Service was great, prices are reasonable considering the location and at around 9:30a on a Saturday there were only a few of us so it was quiet. Lovely classical violinist in the courtyard adjacent that we could hear.
We had a very memorable Valentine's dinner here. It's elegant and romantic. From beginning to end, all the courses were amazing. To start it off we had the potted crab + shrimp and vichyssoise. Followed by the chateaubriand for two for the main. For dessert we had the rhubarb & nougat parfait (an excellent dessert) and chocolate fondant. Granted this is a special menu but I don't doubt that the regular menu is just as good and would love to visit again!
The staffs were kind and friendly. The Camembert was absolutely amazing. The molten creamy cheese paired with the bread was fantastic. The tartine of the day (tuna corn mayo on bread) was also good but not unique. The grapes in the duck confit salad added another level of sweetness and juiciness, paired with the duck and salad is just delicious.
We came after reading reviews praising the brunch, but unfortunately brunch is only served until 12:00. We ordered the onion soup, braised beef, and a cheese board — all decent but nothing particularly memorable. The highlight was the duck salad, which had a delicious Asian-inspired flavour 🐣🧀
