The food was very well served, very fresh and we'll seasoned. Deen, our waiter was very polite and nice with us. It was my first time in London and I am very pleased with the food and the service. The local was very clean. The only not so good point was that it was a little bit too warm inside
Gluten Free food was amazing. Our server Deen was very helpful and explained the menu. Would recommend this restaurant for anyone either gluten free or not. We had gluten free cod and chips and non gluten free scampi.
When we showed up for our reservation for lunch, we were surprised to find the restaurant packed and a large lineup to get in. Whoa, lucky we made a reservation. There are not many tables, so that would explain the lineup. We were shown to our seats after waiting for a few minutes. Our waiter was great and made the visit so much better - thanks. As for the atmosphere, it can be pretty cramped depending on where you are sitting and it is pretty busy all around you. Our food...the haddock and chips were great, and homemade onion rings were also very good. Unfortunately, my fish cake was not that good. It was definitely overdone and had a bit of a burned taste. Deep fried? The texture and taste of the fish cake was not my favorite in London either. Overall, it was a very good visit. Thanks again to the waiter.
We had a lovely meal at Hobson’s. The haddock was lovely, fresh and white and the onion rings were battered and crispy lacey deliciousness. I never tried mushy peas before, and I was not expecting much – – but they were delicious. Service was extremely efficient and attentive. “Jay” in particular was lovely and helped us a lot, and all the servers were polite and helpful. We would definitely return and recommend.
Last night, I dined at Hobson's with two friends, one of whom has coeliac disease and is always super cautious about eating out. He ordered the fish and chips and was so amazed by how safe and delicious it was that he almost couldn't believe it at first – a real standout! The fish was perfectly crispy, the chips were spot-on fries, and everything tasted super fresh and tasty. Service was incredibly friendly and attentive, the chefs were cheerful and full of passion while cooking. Highly recommended, even for non-gluten-free eaters like us – everyone loved it!
