The Jam Tree

London

Beer Gardens

The Kings Road in Chelsea is a long, straight stretch of tarmac festooned with designer brand shops, glitzy bars and restaurants, numerous pretty squares with trimmed lawns, and the Saatchi Gallery.

It's on this road that you'll find the Jam Tree. Between Sloane Square Tube stop and Fulham Broadway (but much closer to the latter, so go to that one for less of a walk) sits this deliciously colourful and artistic joint.

The Jam Tree's clientele consists of trendy thirty-somethings and it has a solid reputation for many aspects of its armory. The food: in the summertime they lay on a hog roast which sizzles away in the barbecue area out back. The drink: a wine list compiled by expert sommelier, Tim Kitchener-Smith. He's managed to pair the list of options beautifully well with the food on offer.

It's main driving force is its garden area, though. We've just said they put on a hog roast every summer in their garden but, apart from anything else, it's a massive social space where you can grab a hefty jug of Pimm's to help the warmer days ease past.

With a busier crowd towards the weekend and a subsequent climb in atmosphere, the Jam Tree spins DJ sets every Friday and Saturday. Soul, funk and disco are the soundtrack and its cocktails for all as the party fever grips Jam Tree week in and week out. Definitely one to hit up with your mates.

Opening times: Monday - Thursday: 12:00 - 23:00, Friday - Saturday: 12:00 - 02:00, Sunday: 12:00 - 22:30
