Experience one of London's most colourful and loved spectacles: Changing of the Guard. Taking place throughout the year, this extremely British event occurs in the grandeur of the forecourt of the magnificent Buckingham Palace.

The ceremony involves the act of the new guard exchanging duty with the old guard and displays the epitome of British pomp. Set to music, the guards are beautifully dressed in traditional red tunics and large bearskin hats. Make sure you get down to the world renowned palace early though so you can grab a good position outside the gates for the ideal view of the ceremony. This must-see fun London attraction is an enormously popular and traditional event, having started in 1660, which all the family will love.

Changing of the Guard occurs at approximately 11.30am daily throughout the summer and on alternate days in the winter months, weather dependent. The event also takes place at Windsor Castle.
