London: Changing of the Guard Walking Tour
385 ReviewsMarvel at the pageantry of the Changing of the Guard ceremony on a walking tour in London. March with the soldiers and learn the history behind the guards, the royals and the palaces.
For the majority of Londoners, it's great to be able to walk into somewhere like Selfridges shoe galleries and dream about taking home a pair of Manolos. However, for most people, it's also a beautiful thing to be able to walk into a store like Aldo or Kurt Geiger and pick up a svelte pair of shoes without having to contemplate eating beans on toast for the rest of the month. Kurt Geiger's Covent Garden is a wonderful marriage, as it manages to combine a gorgeous but affordable range of shoes with a plush and beautifully designed shopping experience.
The centrepiece of the upstairs is the wondrously decadent and kooky shoe chandelier glittering in the full-length wall mirror, while down the shoe-lined wide staircase lay more beautiful shoes and a well-chosen men's section. This particular store has expanded to offer Hugo Boss and Paul Smith for men, while the ladies get Marc Jacobs and Prada. Not bad, no?
