Asia House
London
Asia House’s mission is ‘to prepare the people of the UK for the ‘Century of Asia’’. Here you can introduce yourself to or enhance your knowledge of Asian life, culture and business.
Asia House in Marylebone is housed in an 18th century listed building designed by famous British architects, Robert and James Adam. The rooms within this large historic house retain many of the original features including bookcases designed by Sir John Soane and plaster cornicing, while other parts of the building have been modernised to create exhibition and gallery spaces.
Asia House was founded in London in 1996 and is the leading Asia-focused organisation in the UK. Asia House aims to work on the relationship between the UK and Asian countries, and do this through educational and cultural programmes carried out at their premises near the Great Portland Street tube station. They run regular events throughout the year which engage up to a vast majority of Asian countries and cover business, politics, current affairs, literature and the visual and performing arts.
