Robert Leyroy Ripley, the man behind the craziness at Ripley's Believe It Or Not!, wasn't exactly conventional himself. He was a traveler, and collected several quirky items on his trip across America, before bringing them to the Chicago World's Fair where his collection attracted people by the hundreds of thousands.
Now, in various museums around the world, Ripley's discoveries and weird facts are displayed in all their wax-work glory. Stand next to the world's tallest man or weigh in against the world's heaviest. See the ancient shrunken heads which tribes held sacred or as wore as accessories around their necks. Navigate your way across through the bridge tunnel as the world around you spins - you're guaranteed to stumble as you emerge at the other end. Or, for an extra few pounds, try and find your way through the fiendishly-difficult mirror maze where every corner shows your own reflection.
You won't fail to notice the glitzy Mini Cooper on your way around the museum, either, because Ripley's really is the Guinness World Records for the strangest and most unbelievable feats. Also, don't forget to take a seat in the gigantic wooden arm chair if you need a rest.
