Description

DAY ONE The tour begins by departing London and travelling to Stratford-upon-Avon; home of William Shakespeare, author of iconic works like Romeo & Juliet and Macbeth. Explore this historic market town and visit all of locations connected to the world’s most famous playwright, including Shakespeare’s Birthplace, his school and the church where he married Anne Hathaway. We’ll have ample time to explore Stratford and have some lunch. This afternoon we’ll travel through the countryside of The Cotswolds; home to charming landscape that has a history of sheep-farming. We’ll stop in the market town of Chipping Camden, home to ‘Britain’s most beautiful street’ and over 200 ancient buildings in the town centre. We’ll continue along the lanes towards the village of Broadway, where we can enjoy spectacular views of the countryside. We’ll spend the night in the Cotswolds town of Cirencester, where the evening will be free to explore and have dinner. Overnight - The Cotswolds DAY TWO This morning we depart Cirencester, but remain in The Cotswolds as we visit Castle Combe, one of the UK’s most beautiful villages. Here we can enjoy the quiet atmosphere and stroll along the river. Next, we make the short journey to arguably Britain’s most beautiful city; Bath. Founded by the Romans, it is said that the spring waters in Bath have healing powers. There is much to see and do in the city, including visiting the iconic Roman Baths, seeing elegant Georgian architecture and exploring fantastic museums. There will be lots of time to explore Bath and have lunch. This afternoon we travel to the world’s most famous stone circle; Stonehenge. Shrouded in mystery, the origin of these stones remains unclear. Constructed approximately 4,500 years ago, many theories have been suggested regarding the origin of Stonehenge; burial ground, solar calendar or alien construction. Take time to explore the site and get close to the stones. By late-afternoon we'll depart Stonehenge and return to London by approximately 18.00, where our tour concludes.
