Follow the pink Chihuahua. Or so you'd be led to believe, from the slickly fun blue-and-pink membership cards the door guy at El Camion issues free of charge to visitors frequenting its bar. Ostensibly linked to the colourfully fun and unfussy El Camion Mexican restaurant at ground level, Dick's Bar down in the basement is named for its chief bartender Dick Bradsell, a London legend who knocks out some of the best drinks in the capital night after night.
The decor of the interior resembles a slick London bar with trinkets from the Mojave desert scattered around - outlandish buffalo skulls, neon lights and faux Murano candle lamps add to the already-buzzing atmosphere. Bradsell and his team are one of the best in London, and sticking to the agave-based drinks menu is probably your best bet - though the range of premium tequilas is outstanding, and Pacifico is proffered to those who prefer beer. The bar attracts the after-hours crowd and pulses to the sounds of electro, soul and pop until a very respectable 3am. There's no signage. It's located between two sex shops. What's not to love?
