DSTRKT
London
Recently relaunched as a member's club and restaurant, DSTRKT quickly made its way into the affections of London's party crowd. Distinctly opulent, glitzy and glam in equal measure, it doesn't have the easiest door policy even amongst London's ebullient West End clubs but offers a succinct and more satisfying clubbing experience than many of its tired competitors (and, crucially, at the time of writing, was relatively new). It's immediately obvious upon entering that the venue received a massive refurbishment - £25 million, to be exact - and it mostly looks the part, all opulent chandeliers, polished chrome and glass and expensive leather.
The crowd is packed with London's clubbing butterflies, and are by far and large a very good looking bunch. Despite the ostensibly decadent experience and visual feast on offer it definitely feels like a place to see and be seen, and offers little for the serious clubber, though it will delight the VIP kids, party girls and their admirers. The feel is equal parts Meatpacking District and Mayfair member's club, and despite the glitter the dancefloor is both small and awkwardly placed. But no one comes to DSTRKT with the express intention of laying it down. Splurge on a table, bring your sexiest friends and suck it up.
Opening times: Tuesday - Saturday: 22:00 - 03:00
