The Long Bar’s design means that wherever you’re placed at the bar, you’ll be sat directly opposite another of the bar’s glamorous denizens. Sleek and minimal, yet buzzy and sexy, the Long Bar was knowingly conceived as a place to see and be seen. Curtains billow along the edges of the bar, and by 10pm the sound of chatter reaches a high crescendo.

The bartenders and clientele are expectedly beautiful, and the bar turns out an excellent vodka martini. Outside is a covered courtyard with a set of coveted tables shaded by tropical trees, ferns and flowers, and it’s easy to rack up a huge bill with the £15 cocktails. Worth the cash? Probably not. But you’re not just here for the sauce. It’s very easy to while away an evening chattering and watching one of London’s gorgeous crowds at the watering hole.
