I had a good meal here and the lasagne was very tasty indeed. I was seated after 9pm and the only negative is that I had to wait awhile for my order to be taken. However when it arrived the food was excellent and the rum, coconut and pineapple cocktail was so refreshing. Finished off with a decent black americano.
Food was average. Quality was okay, and well presented, but overall, not good value for money. Next time, I would head to nearby China town for better food and value.
Service and setting is great. Pity the food dont follow. The meatball in red sauce were so dry and overcooked and the lasagne was swimming in cheese and tomatoes sauce. Impossible to taste the beef.
We made a booking and when we entered, all the way from the other side of the place, the bar tender made these signs on his throat to signal they were not accepting people. Without even checking if we made a booking. Finally we sat down, it took forever for our dishes to arrive. They were very good, small and not cheap but good. Tomato salad , meat balls spaghetti and carbonara, all great. It is a good option in this super vibrant street.
Completely fell in love with this place! Really lovely interior, atmosphere was cosy and intimate. The service was excellent, very quick pace for such a busy restaurant, and the staff were incredibly friendly and funny too. And best of all, the food! It’s been a long time since I’ve been with a group where we all agreed the food was perfection. We ordered the penne arrabiata, spinach ravioli, and spaghetti meatballs. All relatively simple dishes that we’ve had in many other places and they are average at best, nothing special usually. But 64 Old Compton Street knocked it out of the park with each three dishes. The flavours were incredible, we all spent a good few minutes after our first bite either complete silent so we could devour our food or just expressing how incredible the food was. Solid 10/10, I highly recommend and we will be returning!
