Came here for a Sunday Roast. The food was fantastic and the prices were very reasonable, especially considering the location. We had the "All-in" for 3 and a kids roast. The beef was great and the lamb and pork were solid. While not the overall "best" roast we've had, it was a very nice meal, very good meats, and the best Yorkshire pudding and gravy we've had in a while. We also had their renowned cheesecake, which did not disappoint. The apple and rhubarb crumble was yummy as well. Lilli was our server and she was attentive, friendly, enthusiastic and helpful. Excellent service from Lilli and her team.
I went to Blacklock to celebrate my 1 year anniversary in London, and was really happy that I came here to eat. Uyime was amazing host and I cannot thank her enough for making my day feel so special. The meat was so juicy and tender as expected and the gravy had such deep caramelized onion taste that even my sister who doesn’t like gravy usually enjoyed the sauce. Overall would definitely visit again.
An absolute 10/10 experience at Blacklock Covent Garden! The meats were incredibly delicious and cooked exactly to our liking. I paired mine with the Blacklock Lager—bone-chillingly cold, super refreshing, and honestly a fantastic beer. My mum also absolutely loved her red wine. Surprisingly, the green salad on the side was a massive sleeper hit; it blew us away to the point where I’d happily come back just to eat that salad alone! We also tried the hot 'chop sauce', and the umami flavor was so intense it practically sent my taste buds into a trance. But what truly made our night unforgettable was the team. I need to dedicate a special paragraph to Mert behind the bar—his shots were a solid 10/10, and his hospitality was just as perfect. If you leave without trying one of his recommendations, your Blacklock adventure is officially incomplete! Also, our waiter was hands down the friendliest waiter I have ever encountered in my life. He made us feel like we were just visiting a friend's house. The entire Blacklock Covent Garden team gets full marks from me. We'll definitely be back!
Made a reservation months in advance the second they were released and showed up right at opening. The atmosphere inside is great and the service was completely on point, but the food itself feels a bit overhyped. Don't get me wrong, the Sunday roast is good and it absolutely hits the spot if you're just looking for a solid meat and potatoes fix with a traditional Yorkshire pudding and decent gravy. But considering how hard it is to get a table here, it's a bit overrated. There are honestly better options for a traditional Sunday roast dinner in London, and even right here in Covent Garden. It's a fun place for lunch or dinner with a really lively vibe, but maybe temper expectations a bit if you're looking for the absolute best roast in the city.
Best service I ever had and the food here is absolutely incredible! I highly recommend the Mushrooms on toast—the mushroom sauce is incredibly rich and creamy. It honestly tastes like heaven! The steak was cooked to absolute perfection, wonderfully juicy and tender, with just the right portion size. Dipping the steak into that wonderful mushroom sauce was simply perfecto! To top it off, the cheesecake was beautifully smooth and perfectly balanced—sweet without being overly heavy or cloying. Overall, I am beyond satisfied and highly recommend dining here. I want to give a special shoutout and a massive thank you to our waitress, LiDiA. Her service was exceptional; she was proactive, highly attentive, and had the sweetest, most polite smile. She truly made this a joyful and fulfilling dining experience. This was my last meal in London, and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect ending. I will definitely be coming back and recommending this restaurant to all my friends! 🥰🥰
