Took my friends from Hong Kong to this restaurant for a dinner. We were led to a very nice corner table. The interior decor was marvellous. The overall service quality was way higher than expectation. Honestly the price of champagne and wines was very reasonable. Everybody in our group every moment there.

An excellent dining experience! Starting the dinner with oysters—fresh, plump, and bursting with a sweet, briny ocean flavor that melts in your mouth. A squeeze of lemon is simple yet never fails. The appetizers were all light and refreshing, and I still love tuna tartare—it's always a safe choice. The star dish has to be their Wellington steak: golden-brown pastry perfectly flaky, layered with delicate mushrooms and rich meat juices, delivering a complex depth with every bite—a classic worth trying! Drawn by their signature "Press for Champagne" button, pressing it triggers a server to come over and pour champagne for you—a playful touch in an otherwise old-money-style restaurant. For dessert, we ordered cheesecake and flaming crème brûlée. The crème brûlée was just average, while the cheesecake topped with berry sorbet and Greek yogurt stood out—especially with a hint of black pepper mixed into the sorbet, offering a surprisingly unique twist.

We had a wonderful dinner at Bob Bob Ricard in Soho. The restaurant has such a distinctive atmosphere, with its deep blue and gold interiors, private booth-style seating and the famous “Press for Champagne” button, which adds a fun touch to the whole experience. The Beef Wellington for two was the highlight of the meal and one of the best we have had in London. The beef was cooked perfectly, incredibly tender and full of flavour, while the pastry was crisp and the truffle jus was rich without being too salty. We also really enjoyed the selection of three oysters, including Jersey Rock, Carlingford and Cumbrae. Each had a slightly different flavour and texture, but all were very fresh, clean-tasting and not fishy at all. The lobster, scallop and shrimp pelmeni with lobster bisque was another standout. The sauce was rich and perfect for dipping bread. The truffle mushroom vareniki was probably the biggest surprise of the evening, with a deeply savoury mushroom flavour and a beautifully creamy sauce. The Chicken Kyiv Imperial with caviar was indulgent and delicious, while the BBR Chocolate Glory was a fun and impressive way to finish. Special thanks to Alexandra, who looked after us so warmly and professionally throughout the evening.

Overall, a nice experience for a celebratory dinner, but definitely overpriced for the quality of food provided. Indeed, the menu was overall quite traditional in terms of gastropubs/central London restaurants. There is nothing wrong with that, but you find yourself comparing it to other places... We had oysters, salmon, chicken pie and the steak. All were quite tasty, apart from the kitchen getting the cooking of the steak really wrong. This mistake was mentioned and then corrected promptly (thank you!). The chocolate sphere dessert is fun and the price is somewhat justifiable due to its complex design, but it is a bit light on content... The service was very professional and friendly, but I put 3/5 stars because of the steak not cooked correctly and the service charge they suggest is ridiculous (14.5%). What stands out is the atmosphere and the decor of the venue. An attempt at neo-artdeco with a train interior vibe, which I loved. Some might argue that it was a bit dark inside, and that the button to request champagne was gimmicky, but it brings charm to the experience. Being the practical people we are, despite enjoying nice atmospheres and pleasant staff, I doubt we will be back.

🐟 Oscietra Caviar (30g) Served with sour cream and blinis—the briny, delicate flavour of the caviar really shines through. Absolute perfection paired with champagne 🥂 🦪 Carlingford Oysters Plump, meaty and incredibly fresh with a lovely natural sweetness. Topped with Oscietra caviar? Pure umami heaven—salty, clean and so refreshing. 🐷 Pork Terrine Rich, smooth terrine paired with tangy gherkins—such a great combo to whet the appetite again! 🥩 Beef Wellington for Two Tender, high-quality beef, though the black truffle flavour was quite overpowering—on its own I’d say it’s solidly above average for London standards. BUT dipped into the mushroom broth from the vareniki below? Total game-changer, easily top-tier. 🍄 Truffle, Potato & Mushroom Vareniki Originally wanted the lobster vareniki, but thought seafood might clash with the Wellington—best decision ever. These dumplings sit in the most intensely aromatic mushroom broth, which complements the Wellington beautifully 🤌 🍫 BBR Chocolate Glory Such a theatrical, luxurious dessert! Packed with roasted nuts, it honestly tastes like a gourmet, elevated Ferrero Rocher—divine.
