When theatre agent Daphne Rye opened Daphne’s, she probably hoped but did not think that now, forty years later, her restaurant would still be a success and one of the finest restaurants in Kensington. Serving first rate Italian dishes under the watchful eyes of Head Chef Michael Hartnell, Daphne’s provides an excellent service in warm surroundings.
The menu of Daphne’s comprises both classic and contemporary Italian meals. Michael Hartnell creates weekly specials using only the finest and freshest ingredients available. The à la carte menu includes dishes such as herb and ricotta pasta parcels with courgette flowers, salt baked sea bass with fennel and lemon butter sauce and char grilled baby chicken with spiced aubergine and chilli. The dessert menu holds delicacies like raspberries with zabaione and tiramisu. Daphne’s presents a wine of the month list including familiar and rare wines reasonably priced and complementary.
The nice and friendly waiting staff will be happy to assist you with recommendations for either wine or food. The interior is timeless and bursts with elegance and comfort. Daphne’s welcomes larger groups, families and couples with the same genuine smile.
