Excellent food and generous portion to share between two. Loved the homemade pasta. Great flavour and served fresh out of kitchen. Will be back for sure!
We made a last-minute reservation this past Wednesday evening after researching excellent Italian restaurants online. Our arrival changed slightly and were a bit early - despite that, they accommodated us without a problem or fuss. The maître D, Antonio, was so warm and friendly. The additional wait staff attentive and kind. My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and after we were seated, he immediately came to our table with two glasses of complimentary Prosecco. (As a sidenote, I have reserved many a special occasion on OpenTable and very rarely do the wait staff look at the special notes.) For an appetizer, we had the shrimp with butter and herbs, and it was out of this world delicious. They also brought Italian bread to dip in olive oil or the leftover sauce from the shrimp. The bread was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside… great for dipping! For dinner I had an incredible ravioli dish filled with spinach, ricotta, and Parmesan. The raviolis literally melted in my mouth. While I would have tried the butter and sage sauce that came with it, I asked if the chef had a red sauce instead. Antonio mentioned that he could do a vodka sauce with cream, and I opted without the cream; he was again, very accommodating. My husband had the veal saltibucco. The prosciutto that was on top of the veal was slightly crispy, even though it had a savory sauce on it. Extremely tasty and highly recommend trying! For dessert, we shared the Sicilian cheesecake which exceeded expectation. If you are looking for a quaint, refined crowd with a menu that surprises your palette but with the feel of eating at a friend’s home… Antonio and staff will make your experience worth every penny! Thank you Il Portico for a memorable evening.
Impeccable food and service. Classic Italian cuisine with generosity all round. Pasta made in house in true Italian style. Strongly recommend!
Great food, nice service, and a vibe that makes you want to stay longer than planned. The classic lamb and baby chicken absolutely delivered — proper stars of the table. The vongole… let’s just say it took a softer approach than “al dente.” Desserts came in strong though — a great cheesecake and a lovely tiramisu to end on a sweet high.
This was one of the best meals I have ever had in London. The Tagliatelle Ragu dish with a nice San Giovese wine was awesome. One of the best pasta dishes I have had in my life. The service was truly amazing and the ambience was incredible. Definitely going back.
