La Cage Imaginaire

A typical taste of France in the very traditional heart of London, the La Cage Imaginaire restaurant plays with preconceptions to deliver a magnificently stylish juxtaposition of two cultures complementing, rather than colliding. The restaurant is situated along the cobbled streets of Hampstead on Flash Walk, attracting a clientele drawn from locals, local workers, French ex-pats and tourists taking an inquisitive tour through the surrounding streets. Whether seeking a stylish retreat at lunchtime, a romantic evening setting or a venue that can cater for your business or social get-togethers, the La Cage Imaginaire restaurant amply caters for all needs.

Opening at 3pm in the week and midday at the weekends, before closing at 11pm every night, the La Cage Imaginaire Restaurant is sure to impress. The staff is highly trained and exceptionally knowledgeable and welcoming, while the décor - discreet, modern, elegant, minimalist and decorated with verdant ivy and plantlife - will make you feel instantly relaxed and ready to dine. Starters are varied and perfectly proportioned, with dishes worthy of note including smoked halibut with wild rocket salad, casserole of snails with mushroom and the seared foie gras served with balsamic vinegar and port glaze.

For lunch at the La cage Imaginiare Restaurant, well-sized and reasonably-priced portions are the order of the day, with the linguine with king chillied prawns in garlic and white wine sauce a particular favourite. Main evening meals are cooked to perfection, and include the roasted breast of duck with pink peppercorn sauce and Dauphinois potatoes, the rabbit cooked with garlic and red wine, the fillet of sea bass with sauteed fennel seeds and the butternut squash and camembert cannelloni. For drinks, and this being a French restaurant, prepare to be wonderfully impressed by the diverse wine list, while the beers, spirits and cocktails on offer are equally varied and of a high standard.
