Reviews
This was our second visit to Pavyllon London, and unfortunately, it left us feeling somewhat disappointed. We are fortunate to dine regularly in Michelin-starred restaurants, so we naturally have high expectations, particularly at a restaurant by Yannick Alléno. While the setting inside the Four Seasons is undeniably beautiful, we felt that this time the overall experience did not justify the price. Spending around €700 for dinner, we expected a level of service that was simply not there. The service lacked the attention to detail and consistency we associate with restaurants of this calibre. One moment in particular stood out: while we were dining, a member of staff was resetting nearby tables wearing a very strong perfume. It was extremely distracting and unpleasant while trying to appreciate a fine dining menu. At first, we genuinely thought the smell was coming from the product she was spraying on the tables. When we politely mentioned it, simply believing it might be the cleaning spray, our comment was dismissed rather abruptly, and we felt somewhat brushed off. This was disappointing, especially as our remark was made in a friendly and respectful way. In a restaurant of this standard, every detail matters, and the way such feedback is received is part of the overall experience. We were also a little disappointed that the tasting menu felt very similar to the one we had enjoyed only six months earlier. In addition, the presentation throughout the meal lacked variety. While the food was elegant, the tableware and overall presentation remained almost identical from course to course, leaving us wishing for a little more creativity and surprise. The dessert was another small disappointment. After such a long tasting menu, we were expecting something lighter and more refreshing to finish the meal—perhaps something fruit-based or a sorbet. Instead, the dessert centred around meringue and praline, which made it feel rather rich and heavy at the end of an already substantial menu. We also felt that, because the restaurant is located within the Four Seasons, part of the experience is inevitably influenced by the hotel environment. Many guests appeared to be hotel residents enjoying a convenient dinner rather than diners who had specifically chosen the restaurant for its gastronomic experience. Of course, there is nothing wrong with that, but it created a different atmosphere from what we usually enjoy in destination Michelin-starred restaurants, where there is often a stronger shared appreciation for the cuisine and the finer details of the experience. The venue itself remains stunning, and there is no doubt that part of the price reflects the prestigious Four Seasons location. However, compared with many other Michelin-starred restaurants we have visited, we ultimately felt that the experience was somewhat overrated and did not fully live up to its reputation or price.
An absolute 10/10 birthday celebration! We booked lunch here for my wife's birthday along with our 6-year-old daughter. Fine dining can sometimes feel a bit stuffy, but Pavyllon was the complete opposite. They were incredibly welcoming to our daughter, and the staff even performed magic tricks to keep her entertained at the table, which was a massive highlight and kept her smiling the whole time. We went for the "Taste of Pavyllon" set lunch menu (£55 per person), which is an absolute steal for food of this calibre in Mayfair. The wine pairing was spot on too. Every single dish knocked it out of the park: Starters: The cod starter was wonderfully delicate, and my wife's soft egg with tuna tartare and smoked pike roe was a total standout. Mains: My roasted lamb chop was flawlessly cooked with an incredibly rich, glossy jus. My wife had the avocado plissé with curry oil and puffed rice, which was super clever, refreshing, and had the perfect crunch. Desserts: We finished on a massive high. The crisp meringue with praline ice cream and warm caramel was perfection, and the chocolate soufflé was light, airy, and delicious. The open-kitchen setup added a great sense of theatre to the afternoon, and the service was warm and seamless throughout. Thank you for making her birthday so memorable—we’ll definitely be back!
Pavyllon, located inside the Four Seasons Hotel, served one of the best breakfasts I have ever had. When people think of a Michelin-style tasting menu, they usually imagine lunch or dinner, but Pavyllon completely flips that expectation and proves that breakfast can be just as elevated, creative, and memorable. It is easy to see why it earned a Michelin star for breakfast, because the entire experience felt polished, original, and genuinely special. The breakfast tasting menu was a five-course experience with an optional drink pairing, and every course was exceptional. I was seated at the counter with a full view of the open kitchen, which made the meal even more engaging. Watching the chefs work added to the sense that this was not just breakfast, but a carefully choreographed culinary performance. Each plate arrived beautifully presented and full of flavor, with a level of precision that felt worthy of the setting. The standout for me was the prawn flatbread, which was an absolute carnival for the taste buds. It was one of those dishes that immediately makes you pause and appreciate how inventive breakfast can be when handled at this level. Another highlight was the chef’s special twist on shakshuka, served with the best crispy flatbread I have ever tasted. The contrast of textures and the depth of flavor made it unforgettable. Even with a busy kitchen, the chef still took time to speak with me and ask what I thought of the dishes, which made the experience feel personal as well as exceptional. The meal ended on a high note with their ultimate French toast, and it truly lived up to its name. Rich, indulgent, and beautifully executed, it felt like the perfect finale to an already impressive breakfast. To top off the experience, the staff gave me a signed menu as a souvenir, including a signature from the chef, which was a very thoughtful touch and made the visit feel even more memorable. If you are in London and looking for an extraordinary breakfast, this is the place to go. Pavyllon delivers something rare: a Michelin-starred breakfast that is inventive, delicious, and unforgettable from start to finish. It absolutely deserves its star
Flawless. Has to be 5 🌟 This was our first time dining Michelin Star and it was everything we'd hoped for and more! Our server, Joe, was fantastic. So passionate and keen to lean in to what was a special treat for us. We had the set lunch menu "A Taste Of Pavyllon" and I couldn't recommend it enough! Elegant, but accessible, everything was class from start to finish. We were made to feel most welcome and we were looked after so well by all the staff. Hands down one of the best experiences ever.
We had lunch at Pavyllon London and it was truly fantastic. The service was the best I have ever experienced. From the moment we walked in until the moment we left, every member of the team was attentive, welcoming, professional, and genuinely warm. They created an atmosphere that felt both luxurious and incredibly comfortable. Every dish was beautifully presented and, more importantly, absolutely delicious. The menu offers a wonderful variety of choices, making it easy to find something appealing no matter your preferences. We were also touched by the thoughtful complimentary treats from the restaurant, which made our special occasion feel even more memorable. The combination of outstanding food, impeccable service, and a warm, elegant atmosphere makes Pavyllon a place we are already looking forward to visiting again.
